Zion National Park
Zion National Park, USA
About
Located in southwestern Utah, Zion National Park is a breathtaking landscape defined by its massive sandstone cliffs, narrow slot canyons, and the winding Virgin River. It is often described as a "sanctuary" (the meaning of the word Zion), offering some of the most dramatic vertical topography in the United States. Key Highlights Zion Canyon: The heart of the park, where the Virgin River has cut through reddish and tan Navajo Sandstone to create walls up to 2,000 feet high. The Narrows: One of the world’s most famous hikes, where the river serves as the trail between towering canyon walls that are sometimes only 20 feet apart. Angels Landing: A legendary (and thrilling) hike that follows a narrow fin of rock to a panoramic viewpoint. Biodiversity: Because it sits at the intersection of the Colorado Plateau, Great Basin, and Mojave Desert, the park is home to a surprising variety of plants, birds, and mammals, including the endangered California Condor.
